I killed my Corvette by
Jim H
On Monday, I drove into town in my '93 40th Anniversary Corvette. It was
hot, very hot. On the way home, I noticed the outside temperature was
115F. Then, I noticed that the car was running a little rough. Quickly,
the engine temperature started to climb. I know that I should have
stopped, but...

C6 Z06 Wheels... by
Rufus
....ok. Found a REALLY sweet deal on an '08 Z06 (atomic orange, with
only 4100 miles on it...) and I should be receiving it Sunday or Monday.
But I'm already thinking I want to put a set of OEM comp grey spyder
wheels on it.
From what I read/find on them, the size and offsets are the same,...

Tip on C5 Hard to Start by
aRKay[_4_]
I was having some starting issues with my 2001 C5 Coupe. I would turn
the key and there would be a long delay before the starter engaged. On
one trip to the store it was dead and nothing happened for a long time.
I recalled a starting issue a few years ago when it was still under
warranty and...

C5 headlight out of sequence by
FBNE[_2_]
My 2001 just started a headlight position problem. It cycles normally,
but then winds up with the lid about 1" above where it should stop. It
looks like it cycles and then runs that extra little bit. I tried a
manual cycle with the headlight adjuster and it didn't seem to help. I
do not have...

2014 Corvette by
uncle_vito
http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/1005_2014_chevrolet_c7_corvette/index.html
I may actually be interested in buying a new Corvette. A smaller, higher
revving, variable overhead cam design with direct fuel injection may be in
order for 2014. The present C6 has a neanderthal pushrod V-8...

Air conditioner problems on 93 by
Jim H
A few weeks ago, the AC compressor seized on my '93 Corvette. I guess 18
years is all they have in them. I took it to a trusted repair shop, and
had them replace the necessary parts, and upgrade the AC system to use
to the latest coolant.
After getting it back, I found that there is a new...

C4 hatch weatherstrip installation by
CardsFan[_2_]
I got 'round to installing the new hatch weatherstrip yesterday. It all
went fine until I tried to close the hatch. I thought I was going to break
the glass trying to slam it down, but, it finally closed. I called a friend
in the local club and he said to leave it shut for a few days so the...

TPS C5 by
FBNE[_2_]
I am starting to see some false readings on a tire pressure sensor. My
C5 is a 2001 and I have replaced the tires three times in 60K and not
replaced the TPS units. How long do these little devils last before
they are completely toast? I have one that is questionable and three
still accurate,...

new shocks for a 1999 C5 - suggestions? by
charles
I need new shocks for a 1999 C5 with Z51 suspension. Looking for more
performance oriented street driving. Does anyone have any suggestions or
info on options?
Bilsteins have been recommended. I see two options of these, the HD/B6
and the SP/B8 variants. From what the chart says, I would lean to...

Flexible steering coupler in a '76 by
BSAKing
The steering on old Betsy was getting mighty sloppy, so I checked and
the flexible steering coupler is shot. I see I can snag one complete
assembly easily from corvette central or even a rebuild kit to re-use
my hardware and just put in a new flex part. $84 vs $13.
My question is - are there any...

New fluid leak by
FBNE[_2_]
I have a 2001 with 68K. It has suddenly started to drip fluid near the
differential, dead center on the floor. The fluid looks and feels much
like power steering fluid, no color at all, but oily to the touch. The
PS level was low, but I can't imagine that system is routed near the
back of the...
