CD Player Question (how to ?)
You are correct - No track number displayed. Is there anywhere I can get
instructions on: 1. removing my '99 stock radio 2. cleaning and lubricating the CD player When working on my car or anything else, I always follow the physician's creed of 'first do no harm'. I'd hate to go from no CD player to no AM/FM & CD player. :-) You have given me hope of a fix. Thanks, - Pat "lgadbois" > wrote in message .net... > The main problem with most CD players installed in automobiles is the dust > that accumulates on the lens of the player. Yes, that would have been a pretty foolish buying decision. CD players are much less expensive than miatas and they fit in the house much better, though they would not look as cool. ;-) I bought my miata to drive. Driving is sometimes done at the same time as listening to cd's. I would prefer that my stereo work properly for these occassions, but to each their own. Cranking up "Red Barchetta" by Rush, (The ultimate convertible sports car driving song, imnsho), while driving top-down is very enjoyable to myself. I just change the lyrics to "Red Miata". :-) I also like this new one by Nickelback. CD Player Question (how to ?)
This may be slightly off-topic but still included in the idea of my music in
the Miata. Does anyone know of a method to connect an MP3 player to the standard MB AM/FM /CD player? CD Player Question (how to ?)
if it's a portable mp3 player you can find several fm transmitters that
plug into the headphone jack and transmit directly to your stereo in the car... if you have an ipod, griffin technology makes the itrip which has gotten a lot of great reviews. if you own another brand of player you should be able to find some reviews online pretty easily. |

CD Player Question (problem resolved)
I followed Igadbois's advice. I pulled the CD from the car and took it
apart. Not too bad a job if you take your time. Removing the circuit board with those tiny connectors was my biggest problem. I was able to get to the laser lens to clean it. It was not a easy, direct access. I had bend the q-tip to reach it. I did not lubricated (didn't look like it needed it - also didn't know what to lubricate with), Re-assembly went smooth. It took a couple of tries to remount the CD player into the car. There was a wire in the back that I had to move out of the way. Amazingly, everything is back together and working! Thank you all. - Pat "lgadbois" > wrote in message .net... > The main problem with most CD players installed in automobiles is the dust > that accumulates on the lens of the player. CD Player Question (how to ?)
Thanks for all the hints. I think that the FM transmitter may be the best
solution for me. Hopefully the reception will work without the interference.
