Default Alfa Aid Marlow and what should I do

Well it's like this

We've just moved offices to Marlow and I can't help but notice that Alfa
Aid are just round the corner. I've heard of them, but does anyone have
any experience to share?

Secondly we are currently re-profiling our daily transport issues and
one of the possible solutions is to have the 156 fettled. It's (AFAICT)
sound in box, body and engine (140k on the clock)

Things that I know need doing:
1) Front suspension creaking is just getting worse and worse.
2) Undertray needs replacing
3) NSR electric window winder need doing
4) Airbag light reset
5) Small dent OSR corner
5) Side trims beginning peel.

If we keep it, it would be nice to have it in good nick, but I'd be
interested to know what that lot is likely to cost, and if Alfa Aid are
any good

TIA

Droplinks, most likely. Happened on my Marea - cost is about £20 in
parts and an hour to fit.

> 2) Undertray needs replacing

I wouldn't bother. Or I'd get one from a breaker and fit it myself.

> 3) NSR electric window winder need doing

Either don't bother, 'cos you hardly ever use it, or DIY. **** easy job.

> 4) Airbag light reset

Yup, main dealer or specialist only that one.

> 5) Small dent OSR corner

Unless it has cracked the paint, I'd live with it. If you're being
fussy, Dentmaster etc. are the best option.

> 5) Side trims beginning peel.

You can get special double-sided sticky fixers from a motor factor to
fix that.

Alfa Aid.

Good for parts - especially used bits. Not so sure about buying whole
cars from 'em - I did test drive one of theirs many years back before
they moved - it had a bit of a dodgy history.

In terms of getting work done by them...... Nooooooooo!

A friend in Marlow has a very early 164 V6 (as well as a 156 V6, the
b'stard) which was having gear selection issues. Alfa Aid wanted to
charge him for a recon. box and new clutch. L&M International (ISTR)
fixed it with some new shifter bushes.

Other people's MMV..... but I wouldn't.

OK, that's a start. What about SGT?

Main dealer. Expensive.

My 75 came from a bloke who buys their trade-ins and floggs 'em off from
a portacabin in their back yard.

I've had good experiences from L&M International in High Wycombe.
However, he's not cheap either.

Hmmm. Might just stick with Jamie then.

Wouldn't this be the common Alfa rubber suspension bush failure? An
option to fix is to fit Powerflex polyurethane bushes. The Alfa
solution is to replace the complete wishbone.
