I've been following this thread with interest as I used to unscrew the caps on my battery and top up the water but not with the current one which has no caps. The old batter lasted 9 years. The current battery bought second hand has lasted 6. However on closer examination after reading this thread I see that half of the top of the battery will pop up (the half which does not include the posts) so I am going to give it a try. I assume I just add water to cover the plates. I don't have any distilled water but do have 2 feet of snow in the back yard, some of which I scooped up into a plastic jug and am just waiting for to melt. Should be close enough to distilled for the job. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm warning: non-FreeNet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |
