Most drivers have the brains to realize that using turn signals early enough that
they enable the guy behind you to move up to block your signaled move, guarantees
that they will.

The few who don't realize this (or are willing to enable it anyway) are the idiots
who slow the rest of us down.

They can't block you from making a turn onto another street can they? You assumed I was talking lane changes, right? ERRRRR!

Do you mean the guy following you, or in the desired lane but to your
rear...?

Quiet. I think I hear the plaintive cry of the oblivious motoring
victim.

Someone really needs to study WHAT THE HECK makes people behave like the driver in your post! So what, you wanted to change lanes. You didn't do it on his front bumper, you clearly waited until he was some distance aft of you, basically you exercised 'due diligence' but that wasn't good enough for him.

I find such behavior practically routinely. People are jerks.

Yep. Its the way I handle it, too. Just change lanes, if they want
to have an accident, I'll provide it for them.

Here in Iowa we have the opposite problem - people often will not take
the right-of-way when they should. Rude drivers are so rare that they
really stand out. People still follow too closely, but that is usually
out of ignorance, not malice.
