Andy comments:
I think it has to do with economies of scale. With a big oven ,
the
operator can have several funerals at a time, increasing the
throughput.

Also, when nobody has died lately, it could be used to back up the
local trash incineration facility.... or the local Pizza Hut......

I'm pretty sure the engineer who suggested it was Scottish......
..... you just gotta understand the mindset :>))))

Cremating somebody who needs a coffin that's almost 4 feet wide is
liable to create one big, nasty grease fire.

Or a sense of joy knowing that the family doesn't have to feed "it."

I'd hate to be that chimney sweep.

Can't we bring Tyler Durden into the loop, here? -Eric

Why is taxpayer money being used for this? The city owns and operates
the crematorium? Sheesh. -Eric

"I'm sorry, we can't take your loved one unless you manage to render out
at least 100 pounds of fat before cremation. We can provide this
service for a purely nominal sum, of course, and we can even create
lovely decorator candles suitable for PERSONAL holiday gifts if that's
your wish. If you'll just take a glance at our price list..."

I would think that a meat-cutter's bandsaw would be perfect for this
use, and far more economical.

I guess if you don't pay your property taxes they repossess your body,
process it and sell the reclaimed material. They may wait until you're
actually dead, but there's no real prohibition against immediate
foreclosure.

What, you don't believe it? Maybe not today, but I'm not so sure about
tomorrow...
