Default BMW 316i Compact engine query

I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the engine in a '99 E36
316i Compact. From what I can understand, it has a 1.9 engine producing
about 105bhp. I think it is the M43, but I can't be sure.

Thanks.

Apologies, it looks like I have managed to find the answer myself. I think
it is the M43B19. Does that look like it is correct?

If you put your VIN here -> http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.cgi
....you'll find out exactly what engine your car has.

And if you need to identify parts you can go here ->
