He knows, he was just fishing for someone to state the obvious. The real
put-down will follow now. Take it away, Bruce...

Oh yes...of course!

The National Geographic channel had a 4-hour special program aired here
(Australia) last night about the 11th. September (11/9 ) horror.
I am usually in bed no later than 10:30, as I get up at 5:15 each morning,
but last night I watched the documentary through to the end, which was about
midnight. I could not tear myself away, it was so well put together and so
sensitively produced.

The shock of what happened has not been lessened by the passing of four
years.

Indeed it was horrible. Quite frightening when it happened as well as
for some time after that. I was worried for awhile being in public
places with the possibility of suicide bombers and so on showing up.
Just didn't know what might happen next.

I'm not sure if you and other folks outside the USA are aware of this,
but the date 9/11 is particularily significant because that is our
police/medical/fire emergency telephone number.

Yeah, I think most of we who watch TV would be familiar with 911.
It's "Triple-Oh" (000) here and, I think, 999 in Britain.

Ah, ok. It was eerie when I realized the date. Went out and had a
smoke break and talked with some coworkers and pointed it out, then
came back in and couldn't help but notice the towers were no longer
there. Unreal...

0 will get you an operator here (at least it used to be that way; not
sure if it still is). I wonder what happens with 000. Three
operators? :-D

Yeah, and also Katrina. The American media only cares about ratings and
nothing else. Katrina has been dominating the airwaves, so much so that it
has totally engulfed September 11, 2001.

I don't watch a whole lot of television, just some sports and maybe a talk
show every now and then. Even though, you can't help but notice that the
media has seen a gold mind for ratings with this Katrina stuff. I sincerely
doubt the media (most of them, however) care a rats you know what about the
poor in Mississippi. They pretend as if they care only because it boosts
ratings. Plain and simple.

In a word, television sucks. (Make that in two words.)
