Default Idle issue 97 GT 5speed

my idle is off on my car it will not stay running evenly it used to do this
every now and again when it was extremely cold (NC extreme not up north
extreme Below 30) but now it is doing it even after it is warmed up. it
runs ok at road speeds but if i take my foot off the gas with the clutch in
it stalls any ideas.

I have checked all the simply things its getting fuel/air. Exhuast flow
seems ok.

Time to study up on how your car works. It MAY be your idle speed control

Check at a parts store that does free test for codes. See if any stored.

It could be one of a million things, but it sounds like some sort of
vacuum leak to me.

Good luck with it. Let us know how it goes.

Yeah it could be... if it had a carb.

A vacuum leak in an ECM controlled engine result in higher than normal
idle...

That's just my opinion based on experience and LOGIC

90% likelihood of being the IAC, 10% chance of it being one of 999,999 OTHER
problems

Idle air valve isn't working right.
