Wheel for PS2

Hi,

I am going to purchase Nascar 2005 and a wheel for my playstation 2. I have
a Logitech
Wingman Formula Force on my PC and really like it. Will the Logitech
Driving Force or
the Logitech Nascar Racing wheel for the PS2 work with Nascar 2005 and most
other driving
games?

Hi John,

I've got both the original GT Force and the newer (but not current, that's
the GT Driving Force Pro) GT Driving Force.

The GT Driving Force is the one that's compatible with most games (the other
doesn't have PS/2 buttons on it, making menu choices impossible).

Both have excellent feedback and a good solid feel to them. However...

My GT Driving Force had a well documented issue with GT3. This is that you
can't calibrate it to get full 100% brake action. Luckily it's an issue with
the potentiometer (I think that was it!) so the application of a slightly
higher voltage to that channel and the additoin of a resistor has meant that
my brakes are perfect. I believe that the issue affected all games, but
can't be certain. Anyway, the link below is the by far the best set of
instructions on how to apply the fix if it's still apparent in the later
models:

I basically used a 5 volt feed from inside the steering wheel, meaning I
can't run without the pedals (why would I want too!?)

Having used the steering wheel extensivley, I also wore out the down shift
button (L1) as I don't use the analogue padles - they're ****e, and also on
a lot of games if you're at full lock you can't do more than one shift, odd
but true.

Two mico switches of slightly firmer action set me back 38p and a beer to a
mate who does all this (handy to know someone with a soldering iron), and
I've got a perfectly functioning steering wheel again.

So, I prefer the original GT Force, but it's not compatible with many games
after V-Rally3 (remember that!). I'd recommend either the GT Driving Force
Pro - with gear shifter and 900Deg of lock (IIRC), but only after a test on
the game of your choice as it's not clear cut even in the console world.
