Do bodyshops/repair shops get better prices than an individual ?

five replies (that will never appear in *this* group).

Yes, the trade gets way better prices than you for car parts for the same
reason the trade gets better prices than you for EVERYthing in ANY
industry.

I worked at a parts store and a dealership, and yes, shops get a way
better price than the average joe over the counter.

I wonder if the bodyshop is gonna get ****ed cause I got parts on-line
& did some of the works
he first made estimated for

I doubt they'll get ****ed, but don't expect him to provide any warranty
for the parts. He may also find your car further to the back of the line,
since he won't be making any of the profit he normally makes on parts...
