Possibly wiring harness wires running up a pillar post shortning out against the metal ceiling,? That is my guess.A lot of parts are not made inhouse anymore, hard to control the quality.

From the reports I'm thinking it sounds like the light switch in the
visor is failing and letting the make-up mirror lights stay on.
