100W headlight bulbs in B5 Passat?
Anyone have experience upgrading their headlight bulbs to 100W (or
higher...) ? Have a brace of 2005 Passats, and have been less than impressed with the light thrown forward, often over-running it at 110km/hr out in the (dark) country..... Reassurance that wiring/plastic headlight housings can handle it appreciated! Kevin -- " The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." -George Bernard Shaw |

I would also suggest that the problem may be the lenses not the lamp. Those plastic lenses are easy to frost over by abrasion and that cuts the light down greatly. -- Joseph Meehan Dia 's Muire duit |

100W headlight bulbs in B5 Passat?
Thanks:
1) I'm aware that 100W bulbs are not for "on road" use, and 2) The lenses are pristine, with about 30,000km on them and several waxings with P21 wax, just like the rest of the vehicle, so I don't think *that's* it..
