Evaporative Emission System Problem
Hi Group,
I just got a P0455 (Gross leak detected in the Evaporative Emission System. Should I be looking for a deteriorated hose? What is the best way to troubleshoot this? It's a 2002 Caravan SE. |

Is there a fast way to check the gas cap other than it looks visually ok and it appears to be fastening to the filler tube correctly? Thanks for your comments. |

The two most popular leaks that will set a large leak on that van is the rubber hose under the van that runs to the canister and connects to the steel line. The other large leak is a small rubber hose under the air cleaner. Glenn Beasley Chrysler Tech |

I think I got a code like that on my 96 Town and County once. I reset the
codes and it never came on again. You might try that to make sure you really have a problem. |

without a scan tool to set up a monitor test it's a waste of time except to
inspect the cap and look for any rust in the middle if there is the cap is bad "Daniel J.
