Default Madza 626 won't shift

I have a 1996 Madza 626, V6 and a auto trans. It will not shift into high
gear. I have tried to make it shift with gas and/or shift lever. Any
ideas out there. Thanks Chuck 39

very known problem for the torque converter solenoid malfunction, nothing
but problems with those tranny's your gonna wanna a total overhaul including
the updated valve body!
