I have to ask why anyone spent any time or money researching the
obvious. Guess the next thing they'll research is the apparent color
of the sun at noon on a clear day.

One can only hope. Then there'll be a study on the prevalence of
blindness among researchers of obvious phenomena.

I once thought such studies were a waste of time and money, but lately I
am changing my mind somewhat. They are done for the idiots of the
world to whom you say 'the sky is blue' and they say 'you have no proof
of that'.

Made a slight revision to your post. Thought you'd appreciate it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some funded research project on the
effects of pork on government budgeting.

Makes sense.

Do you think that said idiots can draw the causal effects between
obesity and skyrocketing health care costs, or do you think those
idiots believe legislature is the correct solution?

Hopefully some good will come of the money spent. Given my anecdotal
observations, however, I'm betting it won't.

What I don't understand is why MADD isn't all over this. Freakin'
hypocrites.

government's complete take over of health care is for practical
reasons. Practical reasons for the government and ruling class that is,
not for us.

Well, at least SOME good has come out of the study:

Lawmakers to propose ban on driving while texting

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...z2U2QD99O2NL04

What amazes me is that it's taken this long, and that such a study
even had to be performed. The U.S.A.'s population is, for the most
part, stupid.
