A 270 hp Buick Regal?

Do the new Buick Regal automobiles now come with optional 270 hp
engines? For use in first responder services like police and fire
departments?

Well, there are no new Buick Regal automobiles, they stopped production
a goodly long time ago.

The replacement, the LaCrosse (or Allure in Canada ) comes with either
the old 205hp 3800 V6 or a 255hp four-cam 3.6 litre six, naturally
aspirated. (same as in the CTS).

The Pontiac Grand Prix comes with the 205hp 3800 or a 260hp supercharged
version, but in 2005 we will see a 5.3 litre V8 with cylinder
deactivation replace the blower motor, which produces approximately
290hp while being lighter (as the 5.3 is all-aluminium).

The 5.3 should eventually make it's way into the Impala and Monte Carlo
SS's, and I would expect it in the police versions around the same time
- to defend Chevy's crown now that the 345hp 5.7 litre Magnum is up for
bids...
