Dodge Colt?

I own a 92 Dodge Colt 200. Whenever I try to buy parts for it, I am asked if
it is U.S. made or Canadian made. How can I tell which it is?

Look at the VIN (serial number) If it begins with a 2 it's Canadian made, if
a 1 or 4, American.

that's a japanese built Mitsubishi, I believe, if it's like the Colts
imported here to the USA.

The VIN number begins with JB3....
and yes it is a Mitsubishi.

B = Dodge
3 = Passenger Car

I could keep going if I had more info.
This is a Jap car not Canadian or US built. None were. I would
question the ability of anyone who wants to sell you parts.

The question is not Canadian MADE or US MADE, it's which market it was
produced for. There were subtle differences.
Worse yet, A Colt 200, 1992, Canadian market, can have any number of
different combinations of parts.
At least 2 different rads, at least 2 different types of brakes, (not
interchangeable peice at a time, but interchangeable as a complete
system) - and the parts MAY be the same as a 1991, or the same as a
1993, for instance.
Parts dealers and recycling yards do NOT like supplying parts for
these cars because they have, statistically, less than a 50% chance of
getting you the right part first try.

Even the Chrysler dealer counterman wants to crawl into a hole under
the counter when he sees a Colt customer come for parts!!!

That said, I've "made do" with what was available many times, even
when it was not the part called for on the car.
Mitsu parts are generally significantly more expensive than say,
Toyota, Mazda, or Nissan parts. Often more expensive than Mercedes.
And virtually no-one stocks them.

I've owned a few - I THINK I've learned my lesson!!!
