Default flywheel-pilot bearing

Does anybody know what goes into the center of the flywheel on an '82
Vanagon? I thought it was the pilot bearing, but it doesn't fit. Is the
hole just empty? Thanks.

This must be a new flywheel or you would see indications of what might have been
there before. It doesn't LOOK like anything goes the

The wood dowel pin tool to line up the clutch. Comes to mind.

It should take the W0133-1638380 bearing which fits lots of VW/Audi
applications. Are you sure you have the right part?
