I'm guessing Milwaukee-Division-Ashland in Chicago, sometime mid-late
1950s. Note the subway entrance at the center of the picture. Milwaukee
subway, now Blue Line, opened in 1951.

Streetcar tracks still in place, but propane and diesel buses rule (a
Fageol-Twin is facing us on Milwaukee, with a GM Old Look on Ashland).

The buses look very CTA-ish but I can see anything else that would make
it Chicago.

Google image search actually paid off. This is the Polish Triangle, or the
intersection of Division, Ashland, and Milwaukee Avenues.

Same spot from a different perspective more recently.
