Need help choosing a tire size
My 2002 Camry LE came with 205/65R15 tires. Can I put a slightly wider
set of winter tires on? I'm looking at the following size: 215/65R15 Alos, will I have to buy a new set of rims, or change my speedometer? |

Actually narrower is better for bite ie: 195/70

The narrower the better. You want to concentrate the car's weight in a smaller area to improve bite in snow. Your ti 205 * .65 = 133.25mm Possible replacements: 195 * .70 = 136.5mm 185 * .70 = 129.5mm The choice: 195/70-15 will result in a speedometer error of about 1% slow. 185/70-15 will result in a speedometer error of about 1% fast. If the 185/70-15 will fit properly on your wheel, I'd go with that. If not, then the 195/70-15. |

if you go smaller...do us a favor and drive slower around turns so you don't
go sliding off the road. |
