Default Idiot wrecked my 1750 GTV last night.

I was stationary in Melbourne CBD last night when someone drove into
the back of my Alfa at ~50kmh. It's wrecked. I have a cheque and a
wreck coming, because I have salvage rights. It's almost still drivable,
or will be after a porta-power is used to crank one wheel-arch out
again. Not legally though, of course.

It is running a twin-spark engine from a 75 Milano (I have the original,
which only has 10,000 miles on a rebuild), had LSD, nylon bushings with
Konis all round, superb leather seats, new gearbox.

I bought it a week before my first-born's first birthday, restored it to
pristine and it was wrecked 2 days after my youngest got his VCE (end of
school) results. 23 years. I guess it's time for a new phase of life, and
a new kind of car. Can't see that I'll ever have that combination of style
and sheer excitement again though.

The world is minus one more very special car... unless someone wants to
repair it. It'll be expensive but doable, though not by me. Can't go
there again. In Australia, if it wasn't obvious.
