Tell you this much. My SWMBO is not *at all* interested in how many
cupholders 'her' 147 has.

Far more does it have leather, have the cambelts been done, and
properly, and when, how many miles, is it a 2l 3 door.

I do love her

Oh do keep up old boy! ;-) Turbo Benzina..er..oh..maybe Injection?
Anyway, the new 1750 engine.

I've glimpsed at a couple of 159 TBI reviews and while the engine is a
good performer (with light weight [saves 100kg vs V6] allied to 200hp
at 5000 rpm and 236 lbft at 1400 rpm) it's not got any Alfa character
they say.

The paper figures suggest the engine should be a cracker - hugely
flexible with a massive power band. If Alfa have left any turbo lag in
it they should be shot!! I don't think it's very high revving though.

Unfortunately it's only in the lardy 159 at the moment and that seems
to need about 200hp to get under 8.5s to 60!! :-( In reality,
0-62mph at 7.7s is still slower than my personal benchmark - a diesel
Chrysler 300C. If it lost a second, it would get my thumbs up.

Insufficient cylinder / capacity error

In the subject of engines, SMWBO is in my car today, as her hire car
finished, and we've not had a chance to spend the insurance cheque yet.

Bloody hell, it sounds great from *outside*.

I'm gonna miss that when I've finally run it into the ground.
