Axle question
Hi,
Is a 1-ton arbor press enough to press-fit the bearing and retainer ring on a axle shaft without too much trouble? If not, what would be enough? A 2-ton arbor? A 12-ton hydraulic? I want to avoid using the bfh. /herb |

1 ton no, 2 ton probably not, 12 ton yes for a rear axle, no for the
later model sealed front hubs Herb Leong wrote: > Hi, > > Is a 1-ton arbor press enough to press-fit the bearing and retainer > ring on a axle shaft without too much trouble? > > If not, what would be enough? A 2-ton arbor? A 12-ton hydraulic? > > I want to avoid using the bfh. > > /herb |

Axle question
That's a pretty good looking trick for removing the old bearing/retainer.
Now to find a spare d44 axle shaft that will fit... /herb In article >, L.W.(ßill) Hughes III > wrote: # #http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/mainte...ring/press.jpg # God Bless America, Bill O|||||||O http://www.billhughes.com/ # #Herb Leong wrote: #> #> Hi, #> #> Is a 1-ton arbor press enough to press-fit the bearing and retainer #> ring on a axle shaft without too much trouble? #> #> If not, what would be enough?
