Default Auto Trans Makes Loud Bang, No Drive in Any Gear

Question about my chevy turbo tranny problem:

My chevy 4x4's turbo 350 went out with a bang! No warnings like
slippage or any of that. It has a shift kit, and when I normally get
2nd gear rubber on a power shift, this time it gave a loud bang
and nothing. Not a gear available, includeing reverse.
Could this be in that shift kit installed? Maybe the fluid pressure failed
in it or something. When it's in park, it still has the locked up axle, so
there is still something together inside, else that would not be so.

Any comments appreciated, thanks

Honky Tonk

I doubt it's the shift kit that broke. More likely one of the hard
parts. The "park" lock still working doesn't mean anything about the
condition of the rest of it. It's just a pawl in a notch on the
output shaft.
