Default Ignition coil.

Hi, I have just bought a new 12volt coil and when I came to fit it, it
struck me that the paint might interfere with the current flow on the HT
circuit.
Do I need to remove some of the paint under the clamp? Or is the HT high
enough to jump through the paint?

Cheers,

Tony.

Not a problem. The Hi-tension flows back thru the +12V battery
terminal. (The Hi-tension winding is internally connected.)

Ah, now I see.
I just removed some of the paint and metered it and sure enough there was no
connection from the case to the HT terminal. Your reply explains why!
Thanks very much.

Tony.
