Default Possibly About To Do Something Rash...

My local dealers (Blackbeard, Teach & Silver) are flogging a 2005 156 2.0 JTS
Veloce, 44203 miles, Nuvola Blue, leather, for £6695. Now, Parkers reckon a
car of that age with 30000 miles is only worth £4575, and my trusty old girl
is worth £850 as a trade-in, so where do I begin negotiations? Should I offer
them a tin of Brasso as well, necks for polishing of? I'm not desperate to
change, TBH, but it looks nice (in the pictures anyway - I'll go and have a
look on Saturday).

£3500, and take your own brasso

Heh, that's a 'Black and White Garage' price....

I'm absolutely shocked they're still in business and selling cars.

Parkers are *way* off on values for anything that isn't mainstream.

Just to give you a bit of info:

My 156 2.0TS Sportwagon with 10k miles on it cost me £5400 in September.
(Black, Momo leather, Sillyspeed, build date October 2002, but unsold
until October 2006)

Earlier this week a 159 1.9JTD Lusso sold for £7150 at auction with
about 40k miles on it, on an 07 plate.

I reckon £4k + your car is about right, but suspect you'll struggle to
get them to take yours as a trade-in.
