That rear photo with the overhung gas tank has the exact shape of a 1930 photo in one of my books, except the 1930's gas cap was on the right side instead of the left side. But the curve is exactly the same. LaSalle had a winged emblem but the center was different the similar wings Chryser used later on their cars. Doby |

Here's a pic of a 1930 model 340 and it's not the same. The grille and the emblem are different too in my front view and the door skin stamping shows no resemblance to the moulded shapes seen in Vlad's pic. -- Pat |

Thanks, Paddy I found similar but not alike in the LaSalle. My dis-advantage is I have little info photos on any pre-1930 cars. I saw the 1935 Plymouth had that little cupids bow dip similar to the dip in the unknown photo, but I have an extensive Mopar reference and looking from 1924 up, no Mopar had anything like the unknown, so quickly gave up on that one. I went in my 1930 book and even with the little know known make could find only the LaSalle that had any resemblance what so ever.. So it's up to another collector detective to get the proper ID. I've eliminated the Mopar and you the LaSallem, now they can get on with the next maybe it was a --- ???? Doby |
