A couple of questions regarding 156 engines, mines a 2002 2.0TS

Is the head on a 1.8 the same as a 2.0?

And can a petrol lump be replaced with a diesel? Or would there be too much
other stuff to change?

Cheers,

Rick

I *really* doubt it. I mean really *REALLY* unlikely

I guessed as much.
I am looking for a cheap 156 to pull at least the top of the engine out of
to repair mine.
I thought if I could find a complete car then at least I had more than the
word of whoever pulled the engine.
If a 1.8 would fit then it would make finding one easier, wondered about
swapping the whole thing for a diesel but as you say, I can't see it being
feasible.
