RicSeyler spoke thusly:
> and had to drive rush hour traffic everyday.. Or had a bum leg > and couldn't use the clutch.. YOU SHIFT A VETTE MAN!! :-) Hey! Watch those "bum leg" comments...I'm just glad that it's my right leg that's messed up so I can still drive a stick. Where the heck does "bum" come from anyway? I don't think I like it... -- Shut up, Dave. -|>|- Diode -|<|- '68 L-79 Coupe '79 Triumph Bonneville |

Maybe you should consider buying a driver with a half decent paint job you could live with for a while that needs to be mechanically spruced up. I'm in process now with a '66 El Camino like that, and it's great. I couldn't afford to buy a show queen, nor do I want one. I use it for Home Depot trips and cruising around, then take an occasional week or weekend to do a teardown and resto of a specific area of the car. It's easier for me to part with money a little at a time than dropping it off in the shop for a year and waiting, plus it's more fun. -- lab~rat >:-) Do you want polite or do you want sincere? |

You hit the nail on the head. I reached the same conclusion ... now I need
to figure out which year(s) to look for and have at it. Actually the input from everyone on theis board has been helpful ... especially for someone just starting out.
