Default Winter tyres

With no attempt whatsoever to read the manual... What is the 'Winter Tyres'
setting on the onboard computer in my 156 (2002, JTS, new interior, old
exterior) for please?

Without doing any research I'd guess it's either a correction to the
odometer to allow for different rolling diameter, or an ASR setting.

As I recall, it's to correct the speedometer for higher profile winter
tyres.
