Default Who has the most miles on their Honda Accord?

Just thought it would be interesting to hear how many miles people are
squeezing out of them?Who has the most documented miles? Getting ready to
take delivery of my new 05 so I'll be staring at the beginning.

I put 316,000 kms on my '91 accord before it died (about 196,000 miles
for the non-metric people).

It was a camshaft bearing that I guess seized up, then the camshaft
sheared right in half. With the associated damage from all that the
engine is very much dead. No big deal because the car ran great and was
very responsive till the last day so I'm not complaining. My Old Pontiac
6000 that I had before that hit 286,000 kms but ran like crap for most
of it's lifetime so my money's on Hondas for keeping their performance
even with very high mileage.

Good anecdote.

I have *only* 220,000km (136,000 miles) on my '93 Accord automatic, and it
still runs like brand new. A friend of mine put close to 500,000km (about
310,000 miles) on an '86 Accord (automatic, carbureted) and, as far as I
know, it never needed an engine or tranny overhaul. He ditched it only a
few years ago when the rust caught up with it.

I remember reading on the 'net somewhere about a mid-90s Accord in the U.S.
that had gone over a million miles. Question is, did it ever need an engine
or (assuming it was an automatic) tranny overhaul?

I have almost 140k miles on my '93 Accord (auto) and now that the engine has
loosened up a bit, I'd say it runs better than new. It passes the emission
inspection by a wide margin. After an alignment by a good shop last year,
I felt like I had a new car--no vibrations up to 100mph.

I had a stranger approach me as I was gassing up last week to tell me that
"If you take car of that car, it will take care of you". Apparently there
are a lot of people out there who used to own 91-93 Accords, moved on
to other cars, but miss the Accord. If any Accord is capable of joining
the million mile club, the 91-93 vintage is.

It was supposedly a 1994 Accord with 4 cylinder / manual drivetrain.
I remember seeing a newspaper column where the columnist was test
driving the car after some Honda dealer bought it for display (noting
that the car looked and acted like any other 1994 Accord with "normal"
mileage), but it no longer shows up in a web search. No mention of
anything other than regular maintenance.

Seems like I'm the leader in the group so far, I'm at 202.000 miles right
now (that would be 323K km). '91 Accord. I'm sure someone will beat me soon
though, it's not THAT much. But I'd like to reach 350.000 miles.

Had a lady at work complaining that her Honda now was leaking oil after an
oil change, and when looking at it I discovered the head gasket had given up
the ghost. She was insisting we did something to it to cause it to fail. The
car had over 300,00 miles on it.
