89 van trans goes forward in P,N, & R
suddenly, when auto trans in 89 voyager 3.0 v6 is shifted to R it
tries to go forward. Will only roll in N if engine shut off, tries to move forward in P, R & N. Goes forward and shifts just fine forward. Had a shudder in trans at start acceleration for a week before this happened. That is now gone. -- Posted at author's request, using moderated http://www.AutoBoardz.com interface Thread archive: http://www.AutoBoardz.com/89-van-tra...ict248744.html |

What could happen is a range selector out of adjustment or an internal clutch failed and dragging. Have you checked ATF level and condition? Regards, Ralf |

Yes, trans fluid full, and not burned look or smell. Probably not
range selector, as the car seems to be always in forward, PRNDL, but not with full power, though will not roll backward in N without engine off. Seems to want to go forward less when in R. Still tries to go forward in P, but locked in trans park position. Car drives perfectly forward, shifts smoothly, etc. "Ralf Ballis" wrote: > "brnstorm" > schrieb im Newsbeitrag > news:1209305_6990182d1c06a96dfa9952d975eed348@auto boardz.com... > > suddenly, when auto trans in 89 voyager 3.0 v6 is shifted to > R it > > tries to go forward.
