Valve cover is a nice dress up! The casting is pretty ugly. On my old '92 I
removed it and polished it (about 8 hrs work). On my current car, I decided to clean it up and paint it in place. I used a satin finish black high temp spray and it looks so good I may not ever do the polish job. Powder coating or professional painting might be dressier but this was cheap, relatively easy and looks pretty good. Way better than the stock casting! Good luck, Chris 99BBB "peter" > wrote in message t... > hi, > > i will be getting my engine back soon and i was wondering if anyone paints > their eng/tranny. what color(s). > > thanks, > peter |

I just keep the engine bay nice and clean, I guess the engine being painted
could be a nice little customization. Would you go subtle or bold? Chris 99BBB "peter" > wrote in message . net... > Chris D'Agnolo wrote: >> Valve cover is a nice dress up! As far as the tranny is concerned, I would suggest you paint it, say, white. As long as you are already taking that much stuff off, you might as well give the car a brush too. White is a nice color that increases car speed and reduces time spend detailing it. Oh boy, Leon's getting predictable ;-)
As far as 'bold' I was thinking of something like a copper color, I think that could be amazing. I don't know what color your car is but, certain body colors might look very interesting as engine and / or tranny color. I'm afraid white would quickly show gunk and defeat the purpose. I'm thinking a darker color might work better. Merlot, hmmm. I'd think about a bright shiny silver (aluminum) or what about
subtle; semigloss black? Chris 99BBB "XS11E" > wrote in message .. . > peter > wrote: > >>> "Leon van Dommelen" > wrote in >>> message > >>> I would suggest white for the engine.
