Default Info on Alfa 166 2.5 year 2000 and 3.0 year 1999

Hi NG.

I am looking at two Alfa 166 in different price ranges.

1. Alfa 166 3.0 V6 year 1999 with 160.000 km, at price 6.800 euro
2. Alfa 166 2.5 V6 year 2000 with 52.000, at price 10.000 euro

I know which is sort of obvious to take, but could you please provide
me feedback on the following subject:

- I understand from reading that Alfa owners change cam-belt quite
often. It seems that the rule of thumb is to change it if in doubt at
any mileage above 60.000 km. Actually I read somewhere at every 60.000
km it is good practise to do so ?

- On the suspension side. When is it customary to change the shocks on
the Alfa 166. Here I am thinking of the 3.0 V6 with 160.000 km ?

- Any input for me to look out for when trying both cars, engine
checks, typical electrical problems etc.... ?

- Are there any major change from the 1999 to year 2000 models ?

TIA.
Morten
