Calif. Senate voting Tuesday 4-19 on speed cameras - $400 ticketsby mail !
Next Tuesday April 19, 2005 the California Senate committee on
Transportation will vote on SB 466 (Kuehl), which will legalize the use of automated speeding enforcement by cameras in vans parked by the side of the road. The tickets will come in the mail, and while the bill doesn't say what the they will cost you, I predict it will be $400 to $450. Part of that sky-high cost will be caused by SB 57 (Alarcon), which will add 40% to the base fine. It is coming to a different committee, on the same day. For more info on how to voice your opinion on these bills, see http://www.highwayrobbery.net/redlig...in.htm#Action5 Jim |

More like $150 plus $50 in administrative costs plus 100% for sacremento to become $400. |
