1992 Beretta 3.1 stalls after a couple minutes and then has no spark...
After it sits for an hour or 2 it starts up again and stalls again.
Checked the fuel pump, relay, etc. Checks ot okay... Fuel pressure is good too... When the car will not start up again there is NO SPARK or if there is it is very weak. I am assuming it is either the ignition module or the crank sensor. A while back I replaced a damaged plug wire (was causing a rough idle) and it ran fine for a couple months. Then one day this week I was driving home form the store and it backfired a coule times, sputtered then died. Just curious if there is an easy way to diagnose the crank sensor and ignition module without an oscilisope? Also, would a faulty ignition module cause it to run for a while then stall? When the car starts and runs the are no noticable problems (no rough idle etc.) until it stalls? Any idea, Thanks |

Very much sounds like an ignition module to me. If you have an ohm
meter you can check the ohms on the crank sensor but I dont believe thats your problem. |
