Default rust primer paint info help please.

Hello everyone.

My car has about 50% surface rust from setting. I been using a sander
taking it down to bearmetal .Using a "anti rust" coating and then a
rustoleum primer.

My question is, Doing this and body work over say next 3-4 weeks befor
i get a real paint job .. Will the primer last? Until i get a real
paint job?

Reason i ask is, Reading over alot of old posts i keep seeing people
saying that primer/rustoleum will absorb water and rust over..

Just to add some something.. the car is in a open carport.I cover it
with a tarp.Im not going to get a super high end paint job because
this is going to be my driving car. Any questioned asked to me will
take around 24 hours to reply because im using deja.com and its very
slow.

Thank you all for your help.
