Default WTT: My Sirius for your XM

Hello everyone. I just got my 2007 GLi a few months ago and it came with
Sirius satellite radio. I am an XM subscriber however. After a lot of
research and talking to the dealer, it appears that the XM receiver from
a VW earlier than 2007 can be simply swapped out. If anyone here is
interested in trading or even selling their XM unit, please PM or email
me. Thank you in advance. Below is the model number that is visible on
the Satellite receiver unit.

I have Sirius
8E0 035 593 D

I need XM
8E0 035 593 E

Thanks

Cannot help you but I have a similar problem. I have a 2007 Passat that has
a Sirius radio and I am a XM subscriber. I am also looking for a swap.

Both of you relax... The two services are expected to merge, whereupon
they will be fully amalgamated.

I know this, but the merger is not definitely going to happen. It hasn't
been approved yet. I am currently an xm subscriber, so for the time
being, I'd like to use it. we'll see what happens though.

Wrong.

After the merger, if it happens, existing receivers will still only
receive Sirius or XM content, whatever they received BEFORE the
merger.

The only difference is that some channels will be eliminated (for
example, instead of a full set of Sirius "Decades" channels and a full
set of XM "Decades" channels, there will be only one set (XM's or
Sirius', who knows?).

You will not be getting baseball games or Bob Dylan on your Sirius
receiver, or football games or Howard Stern on your XM receiver.
