Default Hankook tires

Has anyone here had experience with Hankook tires? I sold a part to a
guy who had the tires mounted on 3 cars, including 2 spec racers and his
daily driver BMW. He swore by them but I don't recall ever seeing them
mentioned here.
I don't remember the specific tire name or model number, I just assume
that it is Hankook's highest-performance tire. He said that the price
was also very reasonable.

Default Hankook tires

Two or three months ago Car and Driver did a performance tire comparo and I
remember Hankook doing so well that I printed it out and stuck it in a
folder for later reference (I left it at work). You might still be able to
dig it up online or if not I may be able to find the rag and scan / email
copies to you. Allot of tire for the money was the jist of it.

Actually, I think I just posted the link in another thread.

I might have to check them out. IIRC, they did not increase as
drastically in cost as the size went up that most other tires do.

I need either 215/40/16's or 215/45/16's, so that is a big
consideration, especially on a tire that I will be replacing about once
a year.

I missed that. Now the links are dead for both the Hankooks and the Toyo
T1R, but at least I know the full name now.
Hankook Ventus R-S2.

Thanks!

Actually the price was amazing, I do remember that.

Pat, click on the download the "download the full report" (PDF file) and you
can easily get the full article, it's quite a good article IMHO. It even has
good pics and the actual contact patch (under the weight of the car) which I
thought was pretty interesting.

Thanks, I am probably going to order a set next week. I will post a
report on how they are the greatest tire ever made after I have had them
on the car for a bit.
I am not immune to "New Tire Syndrome". :-)
