Have You Had This Problem Before?

I had the same problem on a Nissan Pathfinder. I think the computer get
what they call a "Braqin Fart" I hope this helps.

I had this problem when a NY city garage put a lock on my key and "squished"
the resistor in the key. Dash lights up, but car won't crank.
New key fixed my problem. Try cleaning your key first though it may just be
dirty.

Just the starter/key combo. You still get normal door locking, etc.,
for example, you have to unlock the door with a key for the car to
start. What the kit does is eliminate the resistor on the engine
start key from needing to be engaged.

Usually wiping off the tiny contacts for the resistor pellet on both
sides of the key will get things back to normal. The VATS just saw an
incorrect resistance across the key and locked out.

I will try that if it happens again.

Now...if the system locks out, how long does it take to reset? Maybe that
was the problem because I went out a little while later and it started
like nothing was ever wrong with it.

I will try that if it happens again.

Now...if the system locks out, how long does it take to reset? Maybe that
was the problem because I went out a little while later and it started
like nothing was ever wrong with it.

Don't have the manual to look at the moment but it's seems like it was 3
minutes. Just enough time to make a thief leave, but not long enough to
make you late for the next appointment. :-)
