Tirerack vs. Discount tires
>From my research and quotes that i've gotten, discount tires come out
to be cheaper for the tires that i wanted. Alot of people have talked about tirerack, but the cost was more than discount tires. Just wanted everyone to do research before jumping on the tirerack bandwagon. |

I've found that till you get the shipping involved that it's easier to
shop your local markets till you find the cheapest guy & go from there. Mabee a dollar or 2 more but factor in the rest of the story too. Last 4 goodyears I got for my truck were cheaper than tirerack & the guy balanced them for free & gave me valves too. Gotta consider the big picture. Buying tires on line may be or seem cheaper but when they're dropped off in your driveway, tires is all ya got. If you have the facility to mount 'em & balance 'em yourself, yes it may be the way to go, if not you'll be gettin' your wallet out again till you get them on the road. Good luck. |

Good luck. > Tirerack worked in this instance for me. I bought 4 winter tires mounted and balanced on steel rims. Total cost was about the same, plus getting the wheels local would have been more of a problem. I do live in a rural area. Having stuff shipped in when practical can save a lot of time. Ken |
