1995 honda civic lx

I have spoken to a honda rep and no help. I have a starter lock system on my
car. You have to enter a code before the car starts. Somehow, at a local
garage, they disable the code system. The rep told me to hold the * button and
it should reset. But it did not. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Do you know the make / model of the starter lock system? It does not
sound like Honda equipment. When you say they disabled it, do you mean
that you can now start the car without entering the code? Typically the
starter lock systems simply put a relay in line with the wire from the
ignition switch to the starter solenoid. It is not very hard to bypass,
and my guess is that the garage did just that, bypassed the relay to
disable the starter lock.

Take it back to the garage and tell them to fix their screw up.

didnt the "ungo" box use a keypad? hell, i remember the kewl 70s, when
cars had a friggin keyhole in the fender for the alarm switch.
