And this anything to do with what?

That bicycle/ped crashes can be nasty? Yes they can, and why bicycling
isn't supposed to be done on sidewalks.

ISTR that someone here said that a bicyclist was no danger to pedestrians.
That they could easily avoid a bicyclist.

Maybe my recollection is wrong....?

BTW,the collision was NOT on a sidewalk.It was at an unmarked crossing of a
street.

The only people I've ever seen make that arguement anywhere have been
motorists who wanted bicyclists off the roadway on and the sidewalk.

Road going bicyclists know the collisions can be nasty. That's one of the
major reasons we don't ride on the sidewalk.

Yes I read that. My commentary is in general not the specific if you didn't
notice. It's a point directed at those people who think bicycling and
walking should share the same tiny space.

Generally (the way it is in WA state is common), any intersection has
implicit crosswalks (unless marked no peds) even if there are no painted
hatching or signage.
