A LOT fewer illegals;they cannot walk across the border like Mexicans. The Vietnamese came mostly with the fall of South Vietnam to the Communist North. Heck,we OWED them refuge after surrendering to the NV.(and their "reeducation camps") We probably got more illegals from the Mariel boat escape from Cuba than frrom Vietnam after the Commies took over. Also,I noted a comment on the Washington Times site today about Mexicans boycotting "gringo" businesses;if they can recognze a "gringo" business, then why can't people recognize a "Mexican" business? -- Jim Yanik jyanik at kua.net |

Also,if we give in AGAIN and offer amnesty, who's to say that a THIRD amnesty would not be offered at a later date, once another flood of illegals snuck into the US? (like they did after the first amnesty) Also note that illegals now enter the construction trades, that are high- paying jobs that would be entry-level jobs for less-educated US citizens, but now lower the wage/benefit scale for those jobs. It's cheaper to hire an illegal and pay them a low wage and no benefits than to hire a US citizen and pay more in wages/benefits.And then the illegals just go to the emergency rooms.(this was mentioned in that article by the Colorado Governor, with a lot of cited dollar numbers) -- Jim Yanik jyanik at kua.net |

Inever said anything about that. I suspect there are few illegals from France, especially compared to Mexican illegals. > I can assure you that I have seen Mexican busboys working > in restaurants of every cuisine type - not just Mexican ones. WRT Vietnamese or other Asian eateries; Only after the supply of their relatives and friends relatives has run out. ;-) -- Jim Yanik jyanik at kua.net |
