Default GM Build Quality

Just talking to my beautiful bride last night about the 60 Minutes segment
on Oil.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/...n4650223.shtml

At this time, my GM truck (2006 Avalanche) is 2 1/2 years old with 40K miles
and has zero issues. It has been to the dealer once for a window switch
issue. That turned out to be a problem caused by the stereo installer, who
fscked up the ground for the window controls.

We then realized that her 2005 Saturn Vue is approaching four years old. We
bought it in January 2005, and it has yet to make a visit to a dealer. So
far, the only thing wrong with it is that this little rubber grommet on the
moonroof fell off. A small dab of Elephant Glue took care of it.

I'd say GM build quality is doing well. Given the oil prices back down to a
reasonable level and Saudi Arabia telling us they'll have oil for the next
30 years, the US Auto makers might have a chance.
