Early Mustang rear end measurments needed.
Does anyone happen to know the lengths of the axles in a '65-'66
Mustang? Specifically looking for the lengths of each of the two axles in an 8" V8 drum brake rear end. The '65-'66 was narrower than the '67 and later 8's. I'm sourcing some new ones after reading the article in FordMuscle.com (Dutchman), but I won't have my car apart to take measurements until February. I'd like to have them start to build the axles so I can have them in hand when I take it apart to do the R&R, but we don't have the length measurements to make these an accurate direct retrofit. Thanks Jeff Davison |

Thanks Tom... already had those numbers. What I'm after is the length of
the individual axles themselves, not the flange to flange total overall. Need to be sure of the exact measurement of the stockers to make a drop in replacement. Jeff,
I will get that info back you when I get back to the house. So you want the individual axle SHAFT measurements then, right? No problem, I can get those to you sometime this afternoon, but perhaps someone will be able to get those too you faster. Have a good day. -Tom Jeffrey Davison > wrote in message >... > Thanks Tom... already had those numbers. Jeff,
Ok I am back Just in case you haven't already found this on your own: 64 1/2 to 66 Mustang LH 26" RH 30-1/8" The 63 Fairlane is the exact same, in case you are looking for used. 66-70 Mustang LH 27-1/8" & RH 31-1/4" Pretty sure the Cougars are the same for the same years. Have a good weekend. -Tom Jeffrey Davison > wrote in message >... > Thanks Tom... already had those numbers.
