In my experience, that varies with each service location. My suggestion
would be to call various service locations and ask.

Also depends on which make and model (iirc). Some models are fairly easy to
work on others are !@#$%^&!!!
The flat rate manual will give you the typical time to do a given repair.
The shop may add to this to take into account that something may break in
the R&R process requiring more time. Multiply this by the shop's posted
hourly rate.

Flat rate manuals are a pay/subscription service. Not likely you can find
one online. As Steve suggested, get several estimates. You can divide by
the shop's posted rate to see the difference in hours allowed.

Sorry for oversight in neglecting to identify model.

I am looking for info on 96 and up S series (4 door sedans and wagons) but
suspect that earlier years S series are similar if not identical.

I recognize that there will be some variations depending on the source, and
that the Saturn warranty allowable amounts will probably be the shortest.

I have received following data

R&R wiper motor = 1.8-2 hrs

R&R front rotors & pads = 1.2 hrs

R&R rear drums & shoes = 1.6 hrs

R&R frt & rear brakes = 2.6 hrs

The wiper job was my main interest as I have not done this job before and
the manual indicated a job that could be problematic due to the nature of
required dash disassembly. The brake times were of more general interest to
compare with my own experience.

TIA

TIA
