interesting Cavalier spotted
well, interesting to a car geek, anyway. Was following a late model
Chevy Cavalier home from work today, and it had an interesting lighting configuration. There was a rear fog light below the license plate, and the turn signals used the backup light lenses with amber bulbs rather than the stop lights as you would expect. Car also had euro-style repeaters on the fenders. Did not see the front of the car as he kept going after I turned off. Is this a stock lighting configuration for any NA country? Car did not have diplomat or foreign plates, but regular VA plates. Only time I've seen this implementation before was on Australian-market cars, but I thought that amber backup lights shared with the turn signals were outlawed back in the late 60's or early 70's. Or are there also possibly clear bulbs for the backup lights behind those lenses? or perhaps this is just a Daniel Stern disciple trying to fix his car to work closer to properly...? nate -- replace "roosters" with "cox" to reply. http://members.cox.net/njnagel |
