Mixing brands on front and rear pads and rotors?
1996 C4, street driving use:
It seems that it shouldn't make a difference if I use basic OEM quality Brembo rotors in the back and Raybestos in the front - does it? Same for pads? Would it make a difference if I used ceramic pads on front and semi-metallic on the back tires? |

Pads will almost always have different frictional coefficients. I don't
recommend mixing them. I suspect this may be true of rotors as well. I only say this because I ordered two front OEM's a while back. They were obviously from different stock and manufacturer, but both were OEM and carried the same GM part number. I've noticed that the front-left will definitely lock sooner than the right. However, could be something else that's causing the problem. > wrote in message om... > 1996 C4, street driving use: > > It seems that it shouldn't make a difference if I use basic OEM > quality Brembo rotors in the back and Raybestos in the front - does > it? > Same for pads? > > Would it make a difference if I used ceramic pads on front and > semi-metallic on the back tires? |
